For the Consignor

Freight forwarder's civil liability insurance (OCS) is intended for entrepreneurs performing freight forwarding activities in accordance with the provisions of the Civil Code. Due to the fact that most freight forwarders also accept transport orders, it is necessary to ensure that the OCS policy is extended to include the liability of the so-called contractual carrier.

In the event of damage resulting from non-performance or improper performance of forwarding services, the insurer assumes the obligation to conduct liquidation proceedings and pay the entitled person the compensation due within the limits of the forwarder's liability for the damage incurred.

OCS insurance is voluntary (no legal provision imposes an obligation on the carrier to have such insurance), but in practice, the lack of such insurance will eliminate the forwarder from the supply chain.
